Tom Swank

Chief Executive Officer

 

Tom Swank is Chief Executive Officer at American Enterprise. He assumed this role in April 2015.

 

Prior to joining American Enterprise, Tom served as President and Chief Executive Office at Aegon Asset Management U.S., an asset management company with approximately $250 billion under management. Previously, Tom was President and Chief Executive Officer of Aegon’s Individual Savings & Retirement division, which markets mutual fund and annuity products nationally under the Transamerica brand.

 

Prior to joining Aegon, Tom spent 17 years with Security Benefit Corporation, as President and Chief Operating Officer. He held earlier roles with US West, United Bank of Denver and the Federal Reserve Bank of Denver.

 

Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Miami University of Ohio, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado.

Tim Hall

Executive Vice President, Business Development

 

Prior to joining American Enterprise, Tim was president and CEO of Medico Insurance Company located in Omaha, NE. In 2012, American Enterprise acquired Medico and Tim was appointed Chief Operating Officer. In 2015, Tim assumed his current role as Executive Vice President of Business Development.

 

Before joining Medico, Tim served as the Director of Insurance for the state of Nebraska.

 

Tim holds a Juris Doctorate from Creighton University.

Dave Keith

Chief Operating Officer

 

Prior to joining American Enterprise in January 2016, was Senior Vice President at Clinical Reference Laboratory where he assisted the leadership team in developing a business strategy for the business unit providing risk assessment solutions at point of sale for the life insurance industry.

 

Prior to joining Clinical Reference Laboratory, Dave was Founder and Chief Executive Officer of se2, a business processing outsourcing company that administers life and annuity products for insurance carriers. He held earlier roles as Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Operations with Security Benefit.

 

Dave holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration from Saint Mary’s College of California.

Mark Movic

Chief Financial Officer

 

Prior to joining American Enterprise in 2013, Mark spent 30 years with Principal Financial Group. From 2004 to 2006, he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Principal’s Health Division before joining Delta Dental of Iowa as Risk Management Director.

 

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Drake University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the Academy of Actuaries.

Susan Voss

Vice President, General Counsel

 

Prior to joining American Enterprise in 2015, Susan spent 30 years in state government with over 20 years at the Division of Insurance, most recently as the Insurance Commissioner for the State of Iowa. In 2011 she was elected by her peers to serve as the President of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

 

Susan is a graduate of Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa and holds a Juris Doctorate from Gonzaga University.

Margaret (Meg) Brown

Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer

 

Meg Brown is Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer at American Enterprise. Prior to joining the company in 2003, Meg served for fifteen years as Manager at Wellmark BC/BS of Iowa.

 

Meg holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Olaf College, and a Master of Arts from University of Northern Iowa. She has achieved AHIP, LOMA, and CLOP designations.

Dennis Case

Vice President, Agency Sales

 

Dennis Case is Vice President, Agency Sales at American Enterprise. With more than 37 years of experience in the insurance industry, Dennis has a strong background in both direct and career distribution channels.

 

Dennis joined American Enterprise in 2015. He has previously served as Vice President at Bankers Life & Casualty. Dennis also spent six years as Vice President at Universal American Financial Corporation.

Debbie DeCamp

Assistant Vice President, Marketing Communications

 

Debbie DeCamp is Assistant Vice President, Marketing and Communications at American Enterprise. With more than 20 years of marketing experience, she joined American Enterprise in 2017. Prior to joining the company, Debbie was Vice President, Marketing Director at Bank Iowa.


Debbie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from Drake University.

Joan Hentschel

Vice President, Chief Actuary

 

Joan Hentschel is Vice President, Chief Actuary at American Enterprise. With more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, Joan joined American Enterprise in 2017. Prior to that, Joan was Life Chief Actuary at American Family Life Insurance Company for two years. From 2014 to 2015, she served as Managing Actuary for PricewaterhouseCoopers as their lead advisor on principles based reserving for life insurance. Joan worked for FBL Financial Group from 2008 to 2014 with primary accountability overseeing the actuarial modeling team.  Joan started her actuarial career at Principal Financial Group where she was employed for over 15 years with primary roles working in the individual life insurance division.

 

Joan holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Actuarial Science from University of Wisconsin – Madison. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the Academy of Actuaries.

Medha Johnson

Vice President, Human Resources

 

Medha Johnson is Vice President, Human Resources at American Enterprise. With more than 29 years of experience, Medha leads the HR function for the Enterprise, is the culture champion, and is passionate about empowering people. Prior to joining American Enterprise in 2007, Medha was Director of Global Compensation and Benefits at Sitel Corporation. From 2000 to 2004, she served as Manager of Benefit Plans and Administration at Ball Corporation.

 

Before that she was with Gateway Corporation for seven years as Senior Manager of Benefits.

Medha holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Luther College, and a Master of Science from Loyola University.

Roni Knief

Assistant Vice President, Agency Administration

 

Roni Knief is Assistant Vice President, Agency Administration at American Enterprise. Prior to joining American Enterprise in 2005, Roni was Director of Finance for Edge Technologies from 1994 to 2005.

 

Roni holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Iowa State University.

Sara Lehan

Vice President, Controller

 

Sara Lehan is Vice President, Controller at American Enterprise. Prior to joining American Enterprise in 2013, Sara was at Ernst & Young LLP where she held various auditing roles from 2002 to 2009.

 

Sara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Simpson College. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute Community Leadership Program, Class of 2015. Sara currently serves as Treasurer on the Board of Governors for the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute.

Anne Nizzi-Clark

Vice President, Product and Marketing

 

Anne Nizzi-Clark is Vice President, Product and Marketing at American Enterprise. Prior to joining the company in 2015, Anne served in several marketing positions with Delta Dental of Iowa for four years. From 2003 to 2011, she held various managerial marketing positions at Wells Fargo Financial. Before that, she was with Principal Financial Group for eight years as a Marketing Consultant.

 

Anne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from University of Nebraska – Omaha. She has achieved Iowa Life and Health and Series 6/63 licenses.

Dave Peters

Vice President, National Sales Leader

 

Dave Peters is Vice President, National Sales Leader for the Independent Distribution at American Enterprise. Dave began his career with American Enterprise in 2011 as a Sales Director. In 2016, he was promoted to his current position. In this role, Dave is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the sales force, developing programs and initiatives to enhance sales strategies and advance American Enterprise’s sales throughout the United States. In addition to Dave’s time with American Enterprise, his prior experience includes 25 years of sales and management experience in the insurance industry, during which he worked for Mutual of Omaha for 19 years in a variety of marketing and management positions.

 

Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE.
